Christmas has arrived in Redhill to add some much-needed sparkle to the town’s residents this year.

The Belfry had a visit from a very special person to help Centre Manager, Andy Nash turn on the 2020 Christmas lights in the centre. Father Christmas is hoping to open his Grotto too if its safe enough to do so and they are also working on plans for a Drive-in cinema on the roof with five Christmas-themed movies. Keep an eye on social media for announcements.

The Redhill Business Guild has also worked hard to ensure that visitors to the town miss none of the usual festive feels. With generous sponsorship from Surrey County Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Martin & Co, Moore Kingston Smith, McDonalds (Redhill & Salfords) and Plan Insurance, enough money was raised for the giant Christmas tree to return to the centre of the town , surrounded by Christmas lights. Huge thanks again to Andy Nash for organising.

This year, more than ever, it is so important that Redhill supports its local shops – be they small independent stores or larger chain stores. Our shops support out local community and our local economy and the local people that work in them have provided so much for us all this year.  We are urging everyone to shop local wherever they can. Many stores that are currently closed for customers are still able to offer a click and collect service, so before you click the Amazon button, spare a thought about where your money is going and who, ultimately, you are supporting.

We hope you enjoy all of the decorations in the town and that whatever type of Christmas we face this year, it will still have a little bit of sparkle!

#ShopLocal & Merry Christmas!
